Since it began airing in Taiwan in October 2009, SETTV idol drama Autumn’s Concerto has dominated the ratings, and now ranks among Taiwan’s highest-rated TV dramas of all time. F4’s Vanness Wu stars as Ren Guang Xi, the cocky rich kid who has lost faith in love and life ever since his mother betrayed his father and drove him to commit suicide. Popular actress Ady An (Heaven Sword and Dragon Sabre 2009) is the strong-willed poor girl Liang Mu Cheng, who, although orphaned at a young age, has lived her life with her head held high. The two meet as Mu Cheng sells lunchboxes in the cafeteria at Guang Xi’s school. They fall in love, only to be pulled apart by the cruel reality.
It may be fair to say that the huge attraction of Autumn’s Concerto comes down to its impressive cast. Helmed by Golden Bell Award-winning director Chen Hui Ling (Talking with Your Boyfriend’s Ex-Girlfriend), the romantic drama co-stars Tiffany Hsu (It Started with a Kiss), Chris Wu (Miao Miao), and beloved child actor Xiao Xiao Bin (Down with Love). Other major supporting parts in the show are filled by actor-director Cheng Yu Chieh (Police et vous), Lin Mei Shiu (Fated to Love You), and James Wen (My Queen), with a cameo appearance by Da Mouth frontman Harry Chang..
