Everyone’s favorite strawberry-blonde shinigami returns to the big screen in Bleach: The DiamondDust Rebellion. Released in December 2007, the second theatrical film to emerge from the hugely popular manga and anime franchise is per usual directed by Abe Noriyuki and produced by Studio Pierrot. This time the story revolves greatly around white-haired shinigami Hitsugaya Toshiro, whose popularity amongst fans exceeds even that of protagonist Kurosaki Ichigo. When a valuable Soul Society artifact called the “Kingdom Treasure Stamp” is stolen, Hitsugaya is sent to recover it but he never returns, leading to suspicions of treason and a warrant for his capture. Friends Kurosaki, Kuchiki Rukia, Matsumoto Rangiku, and Abarai Renji of course know better so they head out to find Hitsugaya who has meanwhile happened on a shocking secret concerning a Soul Reaper previously thought to be dead..
