The story revolves around the Ko family, headed by patriarch Ko Yee Man (Ha Yu) who is the well-respected pawnbroker in the neighborhood. He has brought up three children: eldest son Ko Wai Ting (Evergreen Mak) whose optician career is in crisis, second daughter Ko Yue Chu (Linda Chung) who is a cop with a two-timing boyfriend, and youngest daughter Ko Yue Po (Cilla Kung) who aspires to be a pop star. And then there’s his daughter-in-law Wan Yuen Han (Nancy Wu), the pawnshop’s old accountant Lam Ah Nui (Chow Chung) and his only son Lam Fat (Steven Ma), and newly recruited apprentice Yip Kwai (Edwin Siu) from Malaysia. Whenever there is a problem in this extended family, the resourceful daddy will find a way to overcome it..
