Yasujiro Ozu (1903-1963) spent most of his directorial career exploring the changing familial relationships in post-World War II Japan, and his Tokyo Story (1953) has even become one of the most important titles in Japanese cinema. Days Of Youth (1929) is among the very few films by Ozu that is not about his signature theme, but instead an entertaining light comedy.
