After finding success with Go Lala Go, actress-director Xu Jinglei returns to the cutthroat business world for Dear Enemy, her fifth directorial effort. This time, Xu no longer plays the eager young office worker, but rather a powerful, globetrotting financial advisor doing business battle against an old flame. Facing off against Xu again is her Go Lala Go co-star Stanley Huang, who once again shares great screen chemistry with his on-screen nemesis. Promising that this is her final commercial film, Xu ups the ante by taking her production across the world to Hong Kong, England and Australia. A capital investment bank led by Derek Lee (Stanley Huang) is launching a hostile takeover of a lithium producer firm on the behalf of another company. To fight off Derek’s mysterious client, the CEO of the lithium producer firm (Michael Wong) brings in Amy Liang (Xu Jinglei) as financial advisor. However, Amy is also Derek’s former lover.
