Delete My Love (2014) (DVD) (Hong Kong Version)
The very prolific Patrick Kong’s latest is a romantic comedy that’s more earnest than the director’s usual comedic offerings. One of Hong Kong’s top comedic actors, Wong Cho Lam (The Midas Touch) stars as So Bo Wing (a.k.a. So Boring), a sad sack who has to deal with a terrible boss (the legendary Michael Hui), a “best friend” who frequently gets him into trouble (Alex Fong, Hello Babies) and a mother who tries to wring every last penny from him (Yuen Qiu, I Love Wing Chun). The only thing that’s remotely good in his life is his sweet-natured but simple girlfriend Bobo (Ivana Wong, Golden Chickensss).
One day, So Boring gets the power to delete anyone he doesn’t like and replace them with a better alternative. He goes on a deleting spree, deleting everyone who annoys him, including Bobo. However, he soon finds that life without Bobo isn’t as great as he thought it’d be..
