Popular Korean actor Yoon Si Yoon of Flower Boy Next Door and Baker King Kim Tak Goo brings his happy-go-lucky image to China in his first Chinese TV drama Happy Noodle. Yoon plays Korean-Chinese youth Xiucan, who travels to Hangzhou, China to participate in a noodle cooking competition. Just like his late mother, Xiucan has a natural talent and infectious enthusiasm for cooking. Though he loses the competition to Zhang Jian (Zhang Junning, Sunny Girl), he lands himself a job at Hangzhou’s top noodle restaurant. As Xiucan develops his cooking skills, his rivalry with Zhang Jian both in the kitchen and over Lingling (Li Fei’er, Royal Tramp) continues to grow and the birth secret that ties them together begins to come to light. With the producer of Baker King Kim Tak Goo onboard as creative director, Happy Noodle has a similar premise of mixing multi-generation family conflicts and melodrama with cute romance and cooking battles..
