Rising star Song Joong Ki from Sungkyunkwan Scandal steps in for Yoo Seung Ho to play canine-loving hero Dong Wook, a trouble-making high school student who would much rather spend all his time with his beloved dog Maeumi and her puppies. When one of the puppies gets dognapped by diamond thieves, Maeumi goes after the crooks, leaving Dong Wook devastated at home. Can Mauemi and Dong Wook save the puppy?
Directed by Lee Jeong Cheol, Hearty Paws 2 delivers exactly what its premise promises: cute dogs, fluffy capers, heartwarming lessons, and a star turn by Song Joong Ki in his first leading man role. In an interesting casting crossover, Chinese actor Zhang Han, the star of Chinese Boys Over Flowers adaptation Meteor Shower, co-stars as Song’s friend, while Sung Dong Il and Kim Jung Tae play the unlucky thieves..
