Mob Sister (a.k.a. Ah Sou) features a star-studded cast!

The film pools together Best Actor winners such as Eric Tsang, Simon Yam, Anthony Wong, Alex Fong, Liu Ye, and Tse Kwan Ho, co-starring with character actors Yuen Wah (Kung Fu Hustle) and Liu Kai Chi. Gorgeous Karena Lam collaborates with new actress Annie Liu, selected from thousands of girls during casting, to portray two Mob Sisters who have to join the triads against their will.

Annie Liu’s lack of experience was seemingly no obstacle in her performance as a naive girl brought up by gangsters. On the other hand, Karena Lam gives up her usual sweet-girl roles, such as the ones in Floating Landscape and It Had To Be You, and takes on a new challenge to play a female gangster in this off-beat and original female-centered Hong Kong triad movie.

Director Wong Ching Po, a past Best New Director winner at the Hong Kong Film Awards, subverts gangster movies’ traditions not only by telling the story from a female point of view, but also by making it a visually arresting motion picture. He tries to make almost every frame in Mob Sister aesthetically complex. Karena Lam’s white dresses and Annie Liu’s red ones form an interesting and impressive contrast. For movie lovers who want to see a highly stylized gangster movie, Mob Sister is a visual treat..

Sex And Zen Special Collection (Blu-ray) (Hong Kong Version)

Sex And Zen Special Collection (Blu-ray) (Hong Kong Version)

The Sex and Zen Special Collection includes both the original Sex and Zen movie (1991) and the new adaptation Sex and Zen: Extreme Ecstasy (2011) on English-subtitled Blu-ray.

Sex and Zen

Sex and Zen is, simply put, one of the most unbelievable movies ever put to film. Lawrence Ng stars as a randy scholar who challenges tradition by attempting enlightenment via the unscrupulous ravishing of as many women as is humanly possible. This desire occurs despite being married to his delectable wife, played by famously top-heavy Hong Kong Cinema starlet Amy Yip. But the quest to become the ultimate player comes with necessary enhancements, namely a horse’s member in place of the scholar’s, uh, laughably small endowment. Thanks to a quack doctor, the scholar gets the necessary surgical help to experience life as a well-hung guy. But does such carnal pleasure come with a price?

Based on a seventeenth century novel titled “The Carnal Prayer”, this raunchy, raucous romp is the perfect midnight film for consenting adults looking for something very, very off the wall. Sex is played for laughs as much as it is for titillation, resulting in many unbelievably entertaining sex scenes. Sex and Zen has eye candy to spare, thanks to appearances by Isabella Chow, Rena Murakami, and of course fan-favorite Amy Yip. The film also features appearances by Category III staple Elvis Tsui, Shaw brothers veteran Lo Lieh, and Kent Cheng as the doctor skilled in horse-to-human organ transplant. It may not be family-friendly or even a comfortable conversation topic, but Sex and Zen can easily be called a cult classic.

Sex and Zen: Extreme Ecstasy

Billed as “the world’s first 3D erotic film”, Sex and Zen: Extreme Ecstasy is arguably one of, if not the most anticipated Chinese film of the year, generating an unprecedented level of curiosity among adult film aficionados worldwide. The Category-III Hong Kong production is basically a remake of the 1991 big-screen adaptation of the classical Chinese erotica The Carnal Prayer Mat. Filmed with the latest 3D technology, the highly anticipated update from the original’s producer Stephen Shiu seeks to deliver a sensual cinematic experience like never before, and its humongous success at the box office is expected to usher in a new wave of softcore entertainment at the multiplexes.

Sex and Zen: Extreme Ecstasy features a great deal of spicy sex scenes and titillating full-frontal nudity courtesy of Mainland seductress Lan Yan, sexy Hong Kong starlet Vonnie Lui, and Japanese adult video idols Hara Saori and Suo Yukiko. The juicy costume drama’s hero and villain are played by Hayama Hiro (Break Up Club) and character actor Tony Ho, respectively, and through their sexual exploits the film serves up a campy, violent, and orgiastic adventure that ultimately affirms the value of true love.

Set in Ming-dynasty China, the film follows youn.
