Yuen Biao and Yuen Wah star as two Ming Dynasty warriors who wake up in modern day Hong Kong in the 1989 action fantasy Iceman Cometh. Their fight started some three hundred years ago when royal guard Fong (Yuen Biao) is ordered to pursue his senior, Sam (Yuen Wah), who is a serial killer and rapist with powerful martial arts skills. The two of them duel it out, but somehow get frozen in ice. A few centuries later, they get unearthed and defrosted in a world completely strange to them. Fortunately for Fong, he is befriended by a hooker (Maggie Cheung) who helps him adapt to his new life. But when Sam is back to his old nasty deeds again, Fong must again try to do what he failed to do before – to bring Sam to justice. Director Clarence Fok (Naked Killer) combines the high concept with comedy elements and brilliant fight sequences pulled off by Yuen Biao’s magnificent team of stuntmen, and the result is a film that is often compared to the sci-fi action classic Highlander..
