In A Good Way‘s Chinese title, which translates to “My Era of Freedom,” sums up the spirit of the hit nostalgic Taiwan youth drama. To recreate campus life in the 90s, the crew spent a great deal of effort selecting the right songs and props. Bobby Chen, Wu Bai and A-yue Chang’s hits play on the music players of students who can’t keep their hands off their pagers and their eyes off the NSR motorcycle. That is the era of four friends played by Lego Lee, Kirsten Ren, Jay Shih and Smile Weng Zi Man in the highly rated SETTV campus idol drama In A Good Way.
Childhood best friends Zheng Ren Wei (Jay Shih) and Lin Jia En (Kirsten Ren) have spent all their time together until the summer of 1995. Ren Wei leaves his hometown to begin university in Taipei and waves goodbye to Jia En, who has to retake the college entrance exam. The days are too boring without Ren Wei around though so she impulsively heads for the big city. At Ren Wei’s university, she bumps into the university’s most popular duo, Liu Chuan (Lego Lee) and Snow (Smile Weng). The four of them soon become inseparable as they march into the best time of their lives..
