In its 18 year history, the Rurouni Kenshin story has been told in a popular manga series, multiple anime series, several OVAs and even audio books. Now, the story of a pacifist vagabond has become a live-action film! Screenwriter Fujii Kiyomi (L Change the World) and director Otomo Keishi (Taiga drama Ryomaden) offer an action-packed take on the origin story of Kenshin, with up-and-coming young star Sato Takeru taking the title role. The blockbuster samurai film also stars Takei Emi (For Love’s Sake) as kendo instructor Kaoru, Aoi Yu (Patisserie Coin de rue) as opium producer Megumi and Kagawa Teruyuki (Kaiji 2) as villainous industrialist Kanryu. Battosai (Sato Takeru) was a proud samurai who decided to give up his way of life after fighting in the bloody battle of Toba-Fushima.
