Directed by award-winning CM director Nagai Akira and written by award-winning CM planner Sawamoto Yoshimitsu (10 Promises to My Dog), Judge! shows no mercy in lampooning both modern advertisements and their creators, depicting the advertising world as a place filled with egotistic figures who are more interested in promoting themselves than the companies they are hired to represent. After taking the blame for another disastrous advertising campaign, Ota Kiichiro (Tsumabuki Satoshi) is asked by his arrogant boss Otaki Ichiro (Toyokawa Etsushi) to take his place as a judge at the world’s biggest advertising competition in Los Angeles. The catch: Kiichiro must make sure that a lambasted ad created by a potential investor’s son wins the contest. Carrying a few words of advice from company veteran Kagami (Lili Franky), Kiichiro who doesn’t even speak any English goes to Los Angeles with co-worker Hikari (Kitagawa Keiko) in tow.
