Kiasu (DVD) (English Subtitled) (Taiwan Version)
The Hokkien word Kiasu translates to “fear of losing.” It refers to a very widespread social practice in Asia of maintaining “face,” and for parents, this manifests itself in comparing their own children to those of others. It sometimes happens that due to a parent’s kiasu attitude, a child’s dreams get lost in the dust. This is the central theme of the 2014 Taiwanese comedy Kiasu.
