Turning the traditional Chinese saying of “women are like clothes” (i.e. disposable) on its sexist head, All’s Well End’s Well 2009 director Vincent Kok and producer Raymond Wong serve up perhaps the year’s #1 chick flick in Love is…Pyjamas. The urban romantic comedy stars a very likable ensemble that includes Ronald Cheng (Vulgaria), Teresa Mo (I Love Hong Kong 2012), Raymond Lam (Perfect Wedding), Karena Ng (Magic to Win) and Lynn Xiong (All’s Well End’s Well 2012) in a multi-threaded tale linking up relationship and fashion two elements that are clearly geared to female audiences in particular.
Underpants designer Spring (Teresa Mo) and her daughter Autumn (Karena Ng) have long been working at the multinational underwear company founded by the latter’s uncle, Hugo (Raymond Wong). Trying to win back the favor of his ex-girlfriend Muse (Hai Qing), who asked him to create a new product line with the theme of “men are like clothes”, Hugo hires top fashion model Jojo (Lynn Xiong) to work on it, which poses a direct threat to Spring. Meanwhile, Autumn meets bit-part actor Fai (Ronald Cheng), who teaches her what it means to treat men like laundry. To help Spring and Autumn win the new product line, Fai introduces them to his photographer cousin Lucky Owen (Raymond Lam), who used to have a relationship with Jojo…
