Winners and Sinners (1983)
In this first film, the Five Lucky Stars are “Teapot” (Sammo Hung), “Exhaust Pipe” (Richard Ng), “Vaseline” (Charlie Chin), “Curly” (John Shum), and “Rookie” (Stanley Fung), with guest stars Jackie Chan, Cherie Chung, Yuen Biao, Pat Ha, Lam Ching Ying, and Cecilia Yip in supporting roles. The five friends are released from jail after serving time for different petty crimes. They decide to go straight and together they set up the Lucky Stars cleaning company. Somehow they get entangled in a war between two gangs over some counterfeit money printing plates, and with the cops also after them, many stunning stunts and hilarious antics ensue.
My Lucky Stars (1985)
Just like Winner and Sinners, My Lucky Stars mixes Chinese kung fu and Western-style gun fight into one entertaining title, with much comedy added. Jackie Chan stars as an Interpol agent who is after a criminal in Tokyo. Failing his assignment so badly that even his assistant (Yuen Biao) gets kidnapped, he calls Hong Kong police chief Walter Tso to ask for assistance from his orphanage buddies (Sammo Hung, Eric Tsang, Richard Ng, Stanley Fung, and Charlie Chin). The five “Lucky Stars” then depart for their Tokyo mission…
Twinkle Twinkle Little Stars (1985)
Twinkle Twinkle Lucky Stars once again follows the mission of the five “Lucky Stars”. This time they are assigned to protect a beautiful young lady (Rosamund Kwan) who gets hold of information about some drug traffickers. Joined by two police constables (Jackie Chan and Yuen Biao), they set out their journey to fight crime, but at times distracted by the ladies they encounter…
