Wu Chun and Han Geng clash in the spectacular tale of love, revenge, and betrayal set in the world of Peking Opera! Seeking breakthroughs in their artistic pursuits, the super-idols of Asian pop signed onto My Kingdom to play “wushengs” – actors dedicated to martial arts in the traditional Chinese performing art form – in Mainland musician and writer-director Gao Xiaosong’s stylish take on the wuxia film genre. To prepare for their demanding roles, all the lead actors have undergone months of intensive training under legendary action director Sammo Hung, who were himself trained as a Peking Opera artist at a young age. Popular actress Barbie Hsu (Reign of Assassins) co-stars in the highly anticipated period action drama, which also boasts a supporting cast including veteran action stars Yuen Biao and Yu Rongguang, actress Annie Yi, and famous magician Liu Qian as the arch-villain in his dazzling film debut.

In the final years of Qing Dynasty, the Meng family was sentenced to the guillotine for supporting the anti-monarchy revolution. Only the young son Meng Erkui survived, thanks to the rescue by honorable wusheng Yu Shengying (Yuen Biao) and his disciple Guan Yilong, and he began learning the art of Peking Opera under Yu. When Yu was defeated by his rival Yue Jiangtian (Yu Rongguang) and lost the “Best Wusheng” gold plaque bestowed on him by the Prince Regent, he became a shattered man, never able to get back up again. Years later, Yilong (Wu Chun) and Erkui (Han Geng) have grown into skilled wushengs, and they take it upon themselves to get back their master’s lost plaque and glory. The vengeful brothers arrive in Shanghai, and soon make their names known after winning the challenge against Yue Jiangtian. Witnessing Yue’s humiliation at the hands of Yilong and Erkui, Yue’s disciple Xi Mulan (Barbie Hsu) vows to avenge her master by orchestrating their rivalry and eventual downfall…
