Written by Kajiwara Ikki and illustrated by Tsuji Naoki, Tiger Mask was a popular manga serialized in Bokura Magazine and later Weekly Shonen Magazine from 1968 to 1971. An anime adaptation aired 105 episodes between 1969 and 1971. Date Naoto leaves the orphanage where he was raised when he is taken in by the mysterious Mr. X (Aikawa Sho, Helter Skelter). Mr. X, as it turns out, adopts children with the aim to train them to become fighters.
