Based on the popular novel by Song Xiaojun, 2014 romantic comedy TV series ShenZhen is Show Luo’s first drama since 2009’s Hi My Sweetheart, and much like the 2009 series, ShenZhen has proven to be a ratings hit.
Show plays Song Xiao Lei, a young man who decided to make a go of it in the big city after graduating from university. Unfortunately, three years later, Xiao Lei still has nothing to show for his efforts. To make matters worse, on the day he planned to propose to his girlfriend, he returns home to find her cavorting with an attractive and wealthy man in their home. He even falls out of a window and hurts his leg when he tries to fight the man. As the saying goes, when it rains, it pours, and Xiao Lei also loses his job, as well as his apartment. Just as he is about to call it quits, Xiao Lei finds a new place to stay with the help of his good friend Hua Qiang (Lollipop F’s Owodog) an apartment to be shared with three girls, the cold Hu Li (Mao Junjie, Once Upon A Time In Shanghai), the sharp-tongued Jing Jing (Zheng Luoqian, Go Love Around) and the dreamy Mei Dai (Gui Gui, Incisive Great Teacher). Sharing a home with three vastly different girls, the bumbling Xiao Lei’s days come to be filled with bickering and misadventures. He has no idea how much this house-sharing experience will change his life, professionally and romantically..
