In the 1983 TVB series Superpower, internationally renowned actor Chow Yun Fat stars as an extraterrestrial who moves to planet earth, exploring possible locations for his fellow ETs to reside. The show also features Tony Leung Chiu Wai (Infernal Affairs) as his friend. Female members of the cast include Chan Man Yee and Patricia Chong Ching Yee, who were both extremely popular in the 1980s. Full of ups and downs, Superpower evolves around the love and friendship between human beings and an alien. The theme song by Alan Tam was also a big hit at that time.
Chow Yun Fat comes from the outer space to find a suitable habitat for other residents on his own planet, which will explode in the near future. He arrives in Hong Kong and befriends Tony Leung, who introduces him to a pretty girl (Chan Man Yee). An 800-year-old being, Chow has never fallen in love with any girls and has a crush on Chan… Friendship and love across species – are they possible? Find out in this 20-episode drama!.
