Screenwriter Fung Chih Chiang has collaborated with Hong Kong’s A-list directors like Stephen Chow (Shaolin Soccer) and Johnnie To (Sparrow). This year, the promising writer is finally making his directorial debut from his own script with The Bounty, a darkly humorous and twisting tale about a bounty hunter starring funnyman Chapman To and singer/actress Fiona Sit. Also featuring iconic actor Alex Man in his long-awaited comeback, as well as co-stars Wen Chao, Sire Ma, Charmaine Fong, Eric Kot, and a surprising cameo from Michael Hui, the offbeat Hong Kong action comedy had its world premiere at the 14th Udine Far East Film Festival.
To plays Cho, a resourceful ex-cop who earns a living by claiming bounties offered for catching wanted persons. His latest job brings him to an isolated island for fugitive robber Fai, on whom the police have placed a hefty bounty of $400,000! During his investigation, Cho takes lodge at the small inn run by quirky innkeeper Suen (Alex Man) and his imaginative and perhaps a little too hyperactive daughter Ching (Fiona Sit), who are curious about this stranger. A series of unexpected and often hilarious events takes place before Ching realizes that the criminal Cho is chasing after is actually a friend of hers!.
