Taking on the first costume role of his career, popular actor Hyun Bin (Late Autumn) stars as King Jeongjo, the 22nd monarch of the Joseon Dynasty, in the blockbuster historical drama The Fatal Encounter. Experiencing great tumult before and throughout his reign, King Jeongjo (1752-1800) rose from the son of the infamous executed Crown Prince Sado to become one of Korea’s greatest rulers. The Fatal Encounter is set during the first year of his reign when the young king faces great challenges securing his throne against scheming political factions that want him dead.
