Fujishima Akikaku (Yakusho Koji) is a disgraced detective now living a sad existence as a security guard. One day, his ex-wife tells him that their daughter Kanako (Komatsu Nana) has suddenly gone missing. Carrying the delusion that finding Kanako would give him back the happy family life he once had, Akikaku goes on a reckless rampage in search of his daughter, harassing everyone around her for any information he can dig up. Soon, he discovers that Kanako’s innocent image has only been a fa ade as he starts putting together a long list of her sins.
