Popular Chinese writer Guo Jingming single-handedly wrote, directed and narrated his directorial debut film based on his own best-selling novel trilogy Tiny Times. With the novel series having garnered millions of fans since the first novel came out in 2008, the manga-style movie adaptation has also been highly anticipated by Guo’s followers and the media alike. A great commercial success in China, the Tiny Times series is set against the backdrop of a luxurious and stylish Shanghai where four beautiful, inseparable girls of different backgrounds and values go through drastic changes in love, family and friendship. Guo received the Best New Director award at the 16th Shanghai International Film Festival for Tiny Times.
In the fast-changing city of Shanghai, longtime friends Lin Xiao (Mini Yang), Gu Li (Amber Kuo), Nan Xiang (Haden Kuo) and Tang Wanru (Hsieh Yi Lin) also begin to witness changes around them. The four girls attend the same university and their school days should be the happiest times of their lives. Jealousy and misunderstandings begin to get to them as they count down their college days and doubts escalate into fights. Their relationships with the men in their lives Gu Yuan (Kai Ko), Gong Ming (Rhydian Vaughan), Jian Xi (Li Yueming) and Chong Guang (Chen Xuedong) are also put to the test.
