An introvert who has trouble making friends at school, Anna (Takatsuki Sara) is sent to live with her grandparents in Hokkaido by her adopted mother after a series of asthma attacks. Naturally curious, Anna eventually makes friends, for the first time in her life, with the blonde girl named Marnie. However, Anna soon realizes that she appears to be the only person who can see her new best friend. Is Marnie a ghost, a figment of Anna’s imagination or something else entirely?
