Michael Hui is Inspector Chocolate, a chocolate-addicted police inspector who hasn’t been promoted in ages. He’s paired with partner Egg Tart (Ricky Hui), and Chiao Chiao (Anita Mui), a rookie cop who’s also a Miss Hong Kong Pageant contestant (!). The pair of cops is supposed to keep Chiao Chiao out of trouble, but Inspector Chocolate and Egg Tart manage to get themselves (and Chiao Chiao) embroiled in a kidnapping case that has potentially dangerous consequences. Michael Hui’s celebrated comic instincts are put on full display in Chocolate Inspector, which includes a bunch of hilarious sight gags and Hui’s usual droll deadpan delivery. Co-starring Sibelle Hu, Roy Chiao (Qiao Hong), Chan Wai Man, Elvis Tsui, Michael Chow, and Maria Cordero.
