The kick-butt members of a female high school’s film club are shooting a martial arts film in their former campus. Suddenly, a group of gangster descends on the school searching for a bag of money hidden by the school’s corrupted former chairman. With the school’s entrance blocked, the girls have to put their martial arts skills to real use in order to defend their school and get out alive.
Continuing a string of successful low-budget indie action films featuring young actresses professionally trained in martial arts, High Kick Angels is a fun, Die Hard-style action romp that offers a strong adrenaline rush. Most of the lead actresses hold black belts in karate, and director Yokohama Kazuhiro gives them plenty of opportunities to show off their training with astonishing fight scenes.
