Kaibutsu-Kun and his friends are hitting the big screen! Originally a popular Fujiko Fujio (A) manga, Kaibutsu-Kun was adapted in 2011 for a television drama starring Arashi’s Ohno Satoshi, Yashima Norito, Ueshima Ryuhei, and Choi Hong Man. Almost immediately after the drama ended, the producers decided to produce a feature film version with the same great cast and a much bigger production, which includes a location shoot in India! This time, writer Nishida Masafumi and Chonmage Purin director Nakamura Yoshihiro take the monster crew and their fans to a new, exotic world with powerful enemies and new challenges. Shown theatrically in 3D, the family-friendly adventure was a major hit at the Japanese box office.
Just as Kaibutsu-Kun is about to be crowned king of Kaibutsu Land, its citizens come out to object because of Kaibutsu-Kun’s selfish nature. Furious, Kaibutsu-Kun runs back to Japan with his entourage – Dracula (Norito Yashima), Wolfman (Ueshima Ryuhei), and Franken (Choi Hong Man) – to visit his human friends. However, when they arrive in Japan, they find that it has become the Curry Kingdom. After showing off his superpowers to Curry Kingdom ruler Vishal, Kaibutsu-Kun is asked to rescue the prince and the princess from the rebels, sending the monster team on another exciting adventure!
