To celebrate the 10th anniversary of its television debut, the long-running police procedural television series Aibou is hitting the big screen once again! Keishicho Senkyo! Tokumeigakari no Ichiban Nagai Yoru is the series’ first film since 2008 (not including its spinoff film), and it marks the first Aibou film for co-star Oikawa Matsuhiro, who joined the series in season eight. Taking place between season eight and nine, the unbeatable team of Ukyo Sugishita (Mizutani Yutaka) and Kanabe Takashi (Oikawa Matsuhiro) faces a hostage crisis in a place they’d never expect: the police headquarters. Released in cinemas in the middle of season nine’s broadcast, the second Aibou film was one of the highest-grossing films of 2010, proving that even in its 11th year, the Aibou series is going stronger than ever.
A hostage crisis has broken out in the metropolitan police headquarters, with the police commissioner and various department heads being the hostages. However, no one knows the perpetrators’ motives or their demands. With time quickly running out, detectives Ukyo and Kanabe of the Special Task Force are called in to investigate the men behind the siege. The two gradually discover that the case leads to a conspiracy that goes to the highest level of the police department..
