Based on the same Hong Kong comic that inspired Andrew Lau’s fantasy action blockbuster The Storm Riders, animated film Storm Rider – Clash of Evils continues the fantastical martial arts adventures of brooding swordsmen Wind and Cloud. Directed by Dante Lam (The Beast Stalker), Clash of Evils essentially picks up where the live-action film left off, opening with Wind and Cloud defeating evil overlord Conquer. The final duel, however, awakens the Kylin Blood within Wind, turning him into a powerful and uncontrollable monster. Cloud manages to contain Wind, but he gets injured in the process and loses his memory. Separated from each other, Cloud joins a gang of street thieves and begins a new life, while Wind vows to never fall to the dark side again. The brothers are led back to action and each other, when Ao Jue, owner of the Kylin Sword, launches his evil plan to take over the martial arts world. To achieve ultimate power, Ao Jue must draw the blood of Wind….
A must-watch for fans of the franchise, Storm Rider – Clash of Evils gives animated life to the complex, action-packed world of Storm Riders, expanding on the heroes and the mythology of Ma Wing Shing’s ongoing comic, which has published over 500 issues since 1989. The Mandarin version of Storm Riders – Clash of Evils is voiced by Nicholas Tse (Cloud), Richie Jen (Wind), and Cecilia Han. The Cantonese version is voiced by TVB actor Raymond Lam (Cloud), singer Hins Cheung (Wind), Juno Mak, Ti Lung, and Hotcha.
