Running only 46 minutes, Garden of Words is a simple love story about longing and solitude set in the urban gardens of central Tokyo. The story centers on a relationship between a young aspiring shoemaker who develops a bond with a woman ten years his senior during the annual early summer rain season. Working with new staff this time, Shinkai has created another heartrending romance that is as beautiful as it is melancholic.
