Two fractured souls trapped in dire lives find a glimmer of hope in each other with The Light Shines Only There, a critically acclaimed romantic drama by director Mipo Oh (Sakaike no Shiawase). Ayano Go (The Snow White Murder Case) stars as Tatsuo, an unemployed young man who spends his days in pachinko parlors and wandering around the city of Hakodate. After becoming friends with Takuji at the pachinko parlor, Tatsuo meets Takuji’s older sister Chinatsu (Ikewaki Chizuru), who lives carrying the burden of her deadbeat brother and senile father. Tatsuo and Chinatsu eventually fall in love, but that love isn’t enough to make them forget about their troubles in their respective lives..
