The title of Barbara Wong’s tearjerker The Stolen Years refers to the protagonist’s five years of lost memories after she wakes up from an accident. Mainland actress Bai Baihe (Love is Not Blind) and Taiwan heartthrob Joseph Chang (GF*BF) play a pair of conflicted lovers in this tragic, plot-twisting, romantic melodrama about a girl’s heart-searching journey of love and self. Reminiscent of the warmth and heartbreak of Bai Baihe’s other 2013 hit The Wedding Invitation and Barbara Wong’s 2010 film Break Up Club, The Stolen Years calls for a bittersweet self-redeeming process for those who wish they could right their wrongs in life and love.
He Mann (Bai Baihe) gets into a traffic accident during her honeymoon with Xie Yu (Joseph Chang). When she wakes up, the honeymoon seems like just yesterday to He Mann, but in reality five years has passed and she’s in the hospital from a different accident. With five years of her memory gone, He Mann is shocked to find out that she has divorced Xie Yu and fallen out with her best friend Siu Wan (Christine Fan). Trying to piece the puzzles together, He Mann dials the familiar numbers again and reenters the lives of those who were once important to her including her ex-husband Xie Yu who now has a new girlfriend..
