The quintessential Hong Kong triad series Young and Dangerous returns in 2013 with a new-generation Category III reboot produced by Wong Jing and Manfred Wong. Young and Dangerous: Reloaded recruits Him Law (Hong Kong Ghost Stories) to star as Chan Ho Nam, the iconic gangster role made famous by Ekin Cheng. Joining him for the street brawls and underworld rites are TVB actor Oscar Leung as Chicken, Lam Chi Sin as Pou Pan and Dominic Ho as Dai Tin Yee. Reloaded follows young Ho Nam and his buddies as they enter the Hung Hing triad to seek protection from gangster harassment, and then fight their way up the ranks to rule the streets of Hong Kong. But can brotherhood hold up to triad politics and the violent machinations of rival branch leader Ugly Kwan, played with sleazy, over-the-top gusto by Sammy Shum (Lan Kwai Fong 2)?
Many other characters from the Young and Dangerous world appear in Reloaded, including rocker Paul Wong as righteous branch leader Brother Bee, Sin Lap Man as Hung Hing head Chiang Tin Sun, Denise Ho as Sister Thirteen and Philip Ng, also the action director of the film, as Big Head. Alex Man reprises his Young and Dangerous 4 role as Chiang Tin Sun’s brother Chiang Tin Yeung. Young and Dangerous: Reloaded is directed by Daniel Chan, who also directed the 2012 gangster film Triad.
