The race is on to catch a serial killer in the offbeat crime comedy Happy Killers. Rising star Kim Dong Wook (Take Off) and character actor Yu Oh Sung (Lump of Sugar) face off as rival detectives trying to crack the case before the other. The crime is serious, but the movie keeps things moving with energetic performances, goofy humor, and small town satire on top of the police suspense. Co-starring popular young actress Shim Eun Kyung (Possessed), Happy Killers is directed by Kim Dong Wook (no relation to the actor), who previously assisted on Kick the Moon and Attack the Gas Station.
Slacker rookie detective Jung Min (Kim Dong Wook) has never been all too serious about his job until he gets assigned to a serial killer case. Local residents are upset at the police for allowing the killer to remain at large for so long, and Jung Min’s own mother is leading the protest outside the station! Jung Min sets his heart on catching the criminal this time, but Young Suk (Yu Oh Sung), an oddball, unemployed father hoping to get the police reward money, keeps getting in the way. Who will catch the killer first?.
