This 1974 Taiwan romance drama was one of the earliest films the then teenager Brigitte Lin starred in. Revered musician and filmmaker Liu Jia Chang directed, scripted, and scored the film, and the theme song he composed is still considered a classic. It was originally sung by Jenny Tseng (who also has a cameo appearance in the film), but due to a contract dispute, was released on record by Tracy Huang; the song was subsequently covered by many divas including Teresa Teng.
In this Chinese version of Roman Holiday, an American tanker tycoon and his family has a short stay in Taiwan on their way to the engagement ceremony between his daughter Laura (Kang Jia Zhen) and a Thai prince. There, the unhappy Laura runs away, meets a rookie reporter Tung (Gu Ming Lun), and falls in love with him.
