This 1972 martial arts film by director/screenwriter Lo Wei was made at the peak of his filmmaking career, around the same time as he did Fist of Fury with Bruce Lee. Lo produced The Hurricane as a starring vehicle for Lee’s frequent co-star Nora Miao (who recently made a comeback in Sylvia Chang’s Run Papa Run). In this film, she plays a righteous swordswoman in the end of Song dynasty, as she and the patriotic martial clans must band together to stop a corrupt minister from surrendering the country to the Mongolians. Co-stars include Patrick Tse Yin, Chin Chuan, Stanley Fung Shui Fan, and iconic villain Shih Kien, with kung fu star Chen Kuan Tai making a brief appearance..
