The third film in the four-part silver-screen remake of sci-fi anime classic Neon Genesis Evangelion, Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo. is set 14 years after the events of You Can (Not) Advance. and continues to depart further from the known tome of previous installments with new storylines and characters. Now part of the organization Wille along with other Nerv staff, pilots Asuka and Mari are sent to outer space to recover Eva-01, where Shinji has been trapped all these years. Barely surviving an Angel attack, they return to Wille’s base Wunder. Shinji finally emerges from Eva-01 but a different world of divided loyalties awaits him. A detonable collar is placed around his neck to prevent him from ever piloting again, but an Evangelion Mark.09 piloted by Rei comes to save him.

Since the original 26-episode Neon Genesis Evangelion premiered in the mid-nineties, the anime’s legend has only continued to grow, amounting to a small industry of manga, DVDs, action figures, model kits, and other merchandise that remains popular with anime fans worldwide. The series eventually hit the big screen, with a trilogy of films released in 1997, summarizing and capping off the series, but creator-director Anno Hideaki is not done with Evangelion yet. Starting in 2007, Evangelion is returning to screen with a revamped storyline and additional, improved animation in an ambitious teratology of films dubbed Rebuild of Evangelion.

Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo. comes to DVD and Blu-ray under the title Evangelion: 3.33 You Can (Not) Redo. The 3.33 version is expected to include slight adjustments different from the theatrical version. This edition includes teaser, trailer, TV spot and script..

Since the release of his award-winning short Voices From a Distant Star in 2002, visionary animator Shinkai Makoto has been earmarked as the future of Japanese animation, the next Miyazaki. Though these are no easy expectations to live up to, Shinkai has shown that the hype is well deserved with his 2004 follow-up The Place Promised Our Early Days and now 5 Centimeters Per Second, a.k.a. a chain of short stories about their distance. The title refers to the speed at which cherry blossoms fall to the ground, a fitting image of the film’s delicate, lyrical splendor. 5 Centimeters Per Second continues with the soft, dreamy aesthetic and bittersweet adolescent sentiments of Shinkai’s previous works, but this time he moves away from the sci-fi themes, reveling in the lingering beauty of the everyday.

Split into three episodes, 5 Centimenters Per Second follows the tender romance and coming-of-age of Takaki and Akari. They first meet as fourth-graders, lonely souls who love the same books and become the best of friends. When Takaki moves far away, it marks the end of his childhood and an unforgettable friendship. In his high school years, he becomes the object of affection for a young surfer girl named Kanae. As adults, Takaki and Akari watch the cherry blossoms fall, alone in their memories. 5 Centimeters Per Second does not tell so much a story, but a feeling, a portrait of life and longing captured by a distant train, a melting snowflake, a falling blossom.

Global Edition Blu-ray includes director interview, as well as Shinkai Makoto’s short films Voices of a Distant Star and She and Her Cat. All three extras include English subtitles..
