TVB drama Police Station No. 7 was first aired in 2004 on TVB’s paid channel before airing on the standard broadcast channel in 2007. Veteran actress Nancy Sit stars as a female ghost, and the cast also includes Lawrence Ng Kai Wah, Maggie Cheung Ho Yee, and Eddie Cheung Siu Fai who has recently appeared on the silver screen (Election, Exiled) more than TV dramas.
Set in 1950s Hong Kong when corruption is very common, Police Station No. 7 starts with hawker Ying (Nancy Sit) pleading guilty for crimes that she has never committed in exchange for money to repay her debt. This time she does it again, without knowing it is a murder case and that she will be executed. Her spirit is attached to her braid, which she cuts off before her death. The braid is kept in the storeroom of Police Station No. 7, until her neighbor’s son (Lawrence Ng) joins the police force a decade later….
