After twenty years of small screen antics, the Simpsons storm the big screen in 2007 with the blockbuster feature-length The Simpsons Movie. The television voice cast, producers, and writers show up in full for the movie, while David Silverman, one of the show’s original principal animators, directs. After the toxic pollution of the Springfield lake claims the lives of Green Day, the town decides to clean up their act and go enviro. Everyone agrees to stop dumping waste into the lake, but Homer disposes a silo of waste produced by his precious adopted pig into the murky waters. The lake’s toxic level goes through the roof, and the EPA step in to fix matters – by placing all of Springfield under a glass dome. Chaos breaks out and an angry mob comes knocking on the Simpsons door when the town realizes what Homer has done. Meanwhile, the EPA is planning to shuffle Springfield under the rug by destroying it once and for all. Can yellow Homer save the day?
