Before making it big in Asia with horror films like The Eye, the Pang Brothers first made a splash with their 1999 Thai crime drama Bangkok Dangerous. Weaving from the gritty streets of Bangkok to the heart of Hong Kong, the directing duo’s hardboiled debut film about a deaf hitman won the FIPRESCI Award at the 2000 Toronto Film Festival, and launched the brothers on the path to international filmmaking fame. In 2008 the Pang Brothers remade Bangkok Dangerous for Hollywood with Nicolas Cage in the leading role.

Deaf-mute hitman Kong (Pawalit Mongkolpisit) is especially good at his job because he can’t hear his gunshots or the final cries of his targets. Hardened by a bitter childhood, he was guided into the profession by Jo (Pisek Intrakanchit) and his hostess girlfriend Aom (Patharawarin Timkul). Kong’s view of the world is relentlessly grim and angry until he meets kindhearted pharmacist Fon (Premsinee Ratanasopha), and begins to think there may be a better life for him elsewhere. But when tragedy befalls Jo and Aom over a clash with the mob, Kong can only pick up his gun again and seek bloody revenge..
