Chelsia Chan was quite a legend in the Hong Kong entertainment industry. She started her career as a singer in 1975, and her screen debut, Chelsia, My Love, paved the way for her stardom in the film industry. Her popularity even extended to Korea, which was quite rare for Chinese stars at that time. She retired from her fabulous career in 1981 when she got married and moved to Malaysia with her husband, and did not return to the music scene until 2006 when she released her new album Flying Our Dream in Korea. Her debut movie, Chelsia, My Love, also starring famous singer Kenny Bee, is now available on DVD for fans!

Directed by Sung Cheng Shou, Chelsia, My Love sees Chelsia Chan as a girl suffering from a chronic disease. She encounters Leung (Kenny Bee) in her graduation ball and they fall in love with each other, but can their romance last forever? The theme song One Summer Night also gained unprecedented popularity across Asia, and is still many Korean fans’ summertime favorite. In 2007, the Hong Kong government enacted a public area smoking ban that sent the city’s smokers out to the trash can ashtrays on the streets for their fix. This indirectly created a new socializing space that brought people from all walks of life together, united by their addiction to nicotine.
