To emulate the success of the 2001 drama Country Spirit, producer Wong Wai Sing (Square Pegs) assembled an excellent cast toplined by Bowie Lam (in his final TVB drama), Sunny Chan, Linda Chung, and Nancy Sit for TVB’s new winery drama River of Wine. Set in the famous Chinese winery town Jiujiang in Foshan, Guangdong at the end of the Qing dynasty, the 25-episode series is based on true stories and depicts the ups and downs of two winemaker families and their complex and intertwined relations. Pierre Ngo, Elena Kong, Sire Ma, Lau Kong, Cilla Kung, Alex Lam, and Evergreen Mak co-star in this absorbing period drama.

Twenty years ago, Leung Ching Yiu (Bowie Lam) agreed to sever ties with his family and become the adopted son of Master Sung, the wealthy proprietor of Jiujiang’s biggest winery who lost his only son in an accident. Yiu only did this to get his family out of poverty and protect his mother Madam Leung (Nancy Sit), but his decision infuriated his younger brother Leung Ching Hong (Sunny Chan), who went on to prove himself by establishing his own winery. Over the years, Yiu has kept his promise to take care of the wine business and his disabled stepsister Sung Chi Ching (Linda Chung). A storm is brewing when Sung Chi Chun (Pierre Ngo) – the long-lost son of the Sungs thought to be dead – returns home all of a sudden to claim his rightful place as the heir of the wine business….

TVB’s top young actors Raymond Lam, Ron Ng, Sammul Chan, and Kenneth Ma form The Four in the 2008 costume drama about four legendary constables of Ancient China. Based on Wen Rui An’s classic chivalrous novel which has inspired the likes of the 2003 Mainland China series Four Marshals and the 1984 ATV classic The Four Constables, The Four is an exciting fusion drama combining crime-solving suspense, royal intrigue, and wuxia action. Co-starring starlets Kate Tsui and Selena Li plus Lam Ka Wah as the protagonists’ mentor, The Four successfully updates the familiar characters and the period suspense genre with new-generation idols, old-school action, and unpredictable cases and scenarios.

Starring Jessica Hsuan, Myolie Wu, and Sunny Chan, Curse of the Royal Harem was one of TVB’s 2011 Anniversary Dramas. The engrossing Qing-dynasty costume drama is often compared to audience favorites like War and Beauty and Beyond the Realm of Conscience for their similar elements of power struggles and concubine conflicts in the palace. The drama’s star-studded cast also features Gigi Wong, Nancy Wu, Joel Chan, K.K. Cheung, Gordon Liu, Kwok Fung, Ben Wong, Elena Kong, and many more in a complex web of imperial intrigue.

During the coronation of Lady Tunggiya Yuanwan (Myolie Wu) as Empress Consort, Emperor Daoguang (Sunny Chan) puts the ceremony on hold to save Lady Niohuru Yilan (Jessica Hsuan), who is made a human sacrifice for the funeral of her husband – Daoguang’s elder brother – at the order of the Empress Dowager (Gigi Wong).
